A Major Announcement
Jesus in Haiti Ministries
November 3rd, 2008
Dear friends,
I know this is last minute and all but I have decided to throw my name in the hat to become the next president of the United States. No I am not on any of the ballots but if you will just write my name in, who knows what will happen. I know I have only two platforms I am running on but these are very important ones: 1) Haiti becoming the 51st state 2) Doritoes must be served with every meal. On a serious note, make sure you vote. I have a gut feeling that the left wing media has been selling us a bill of goods and when joe and nancy American walk into the voting both, the millions who have never been polled, they will pull the switch for Big bad John. He is not a perfect man but he is a moral, patriotic man. Either way, it will not be doom and gloom, God will still be in control in an Obamanation. Make a commitment to pray daily for whomever God allows to lead our country. Remember the people wanted Saul as king, wasn't God's first choice but He allowed them to chose and it got them in trouble but then God placed His man when it was His time. All will be good.
Update from the IslandChurch: Church was really good, I so love to praise and worship and hear the strong words of truth from God's word. My battery is always low going in, charged to the tilt leaving.
Claude: I told you months ago about a blind boy named Claude at the Good Sam orphanage. Claude has had his surgery for cataracts and can see perfect and is so happy.
Fence: Our fence is going up around our new church property. The men are working hard at getting the 200 and some cement poles all around our property. Pictures are coming for you.
Roman Noodles: Or as some of you like to say, Ramen noodles. Well, you have never lived in the hood so I will excuse you. We had never had these noodles for the boys but one day I noticed that I can get 3 packs for 1 dollar. I bought some chicken flavored ones and they just loved them. We then began to have them for them for lunch when they got home for school. They love them so much, we have them about 5 days per week. I even found a store that sells like 15 different kinds. Lime flavored shrimp, beef, goat, you name it, I can get it. This has lowered our grocery bill considerably. Yeah for "Roman Noodles".
Pastor Jackie and wife: Our pastor and wife are expecting their 4th child. Please pray as this has been a very tough pregnancy for her. I asked pastor if it was a boy or girl and he said girl. God promised him when he got married two boys and two girls and since he only has one girl, this will be a girl.
Website: Please check out our website at jesusinhaiti.org for news on our church project, the need for sponsors for our school kids and much more.
October: Thanks so much for your support during these difficult economic times. I could get overwhelmed when I think of the funds still needed to build our church, funds needed for new truck, funds needed just to keep going but then I have to always remind myself "my God has more loose change in his couch then I or you will ever need". I heard a preacher once say "we have more than enough money to finish our building project, I just have to figure out a way to get it our of your pockets".Upcoming: We have a busy week coming up. Things we are working on
1) Starting Sunday morning praise and worship service at our new church site
2) Leadership training
3) More intentional training of my boys at home (One of our staff, our praise and worship leader Altimae is moving in with us to assist Roger in this area, he is a very spiritual young man)
4) Continued evangelism in our area
5) Chapel service at our school.
There you have it, a semi full report. Please pray daily for me and my staff. In the last couple weeks satan has been attacking non stop. The attacks are so frequent and so furious that they are becoming a normal part of our life. Pray for the ability to duck when need be, attack when need be, and to always stand strong. We as a staff know the closer we get to getting our church going, the more the attacks will come. As you pray for me, I will pray for you. Your ministry to your family, friends, co-workers and neighbors is just as valid and important as any work any missionary does. Never think it is not. The only difference is missionaries send newsletters, you don't. Go get 'em, God is crazy about you and is right there with you.
much love from tominhaiti
Thank you for your support
